Louise Laakso Lundin • Artist

Louise is a life-long artist from Northern Minnesota who loves to draw and paint. And teach.

She works in graphite, pen, watercolor, gouache, acrylic and sometimes, combines them all. She’s best known for her watercolor portraits, and paintings of people/figures, Minnesota’s white birch trees, and aspen.

Louise began drawing before age two using color crayon on the wall behind her parents’ sofa, creating colorful lines and shapes. After learning and working on her own, she began a formal study of design and watercolor under Edgar A. Whitney A.N.A., A.W.S., who is referred to as “The Grandfather of Watercolor.” She studied with Robert E. Wood, Cheng-Khee Chee, Frank Webb, and others. Louise has continued advanced study of design, painting, art history, and philosophy of classic and contemporary artists.
